I was waiting for my cab, watching an old episode of Midsomer Murders, when my cellphone rang. I thought they had reached nearly twenty minutes early - must be a new driver. But when the ringing did not die after 5 seconds I knew it wasn’t him.

I tried to watch a Hindi movie recently. I say “tried” because that’s what I did. I do not hate Indian movies, some of my all time favourites are in vernacular languages. But mostly all we see are stolen plots acted upon by yesteryear heroes’/heroines’ sons and daughters, directed by yesteryears’ directors.
